Witness Details Chilling Bigfoot Encounter and Family's Escape

In the video titled "A Flash of Beauty: The Tim 'Coonbo' Baker Tour," Tim Baker recounts his childhood experience of hearing mysterious roars and growls while playing with his siblings near their home in the 1950s. According to Baker, his family lived on a farm with a light post that had been there since he was born. One day, while they were playing outside and catching toads, they heard a loud, God-awful scream that seemed to be getting closer. His grandmother and other women in the neighborhood gathered the children and took them inside, while his mother called his grandfather for help. Baker's grandfather told them that it was just an old catamount, a term used to describe a creature that is a cross between a big bear and a gorilla, possibly with some cat or panther in it, as they can climb trees. The word Bigfoot had not been invented yet, and the term Sasquatch was not used in that part of the country. As the night went on, the mysterious creature got closer and closer to their home. It eventually grabbed hold of the gate and made a bunch of racket, causing the family's dogs to come running and attack the creature. After a fierce fight, the creature killed six of the seven dogs, leaving only one injured dog alive under the porch. The next day, Baker's grandfather took him to the tree where the creature had been sitting and watching them. They called it the "booger tree," and his grandfather told him that the catamounts sit up in that tree and watch them. Every time he comes back here, they jump down and run off down the holler.
