Arkansas Teenagers' 55-Year Bigfoot Encounter: A Chilling True Story

A fascinating firsthand account of a possible Bigfoot encounter has been shared on the YouTube channel Paranormal Odyssey. The witness, who remains unnamed, describes an experience he had in the early 1970s while hiking in Arkansas with a friend. The two boys were on a Boy Scout trip, attempting to complete a hike for a merit badge. They started their journey at Devil's Den State Park and followed the Butterfield hiking trail. However, things took a turn when the trail they were following petered out, leaving them lost in the dense forest. It was late in the afternoon, and the witness recalls hearing strange noises in the bushes nearby. At first, they thought it might be a monkey, but soon realized that it sounded more like a "monkey slap yell." After the yell, they heard a tree shake and a thump, leading them to believe that something large was nearby. The witness stayed behind while his friend went down the trail to investigate. Suddenly, they heard another yell from the creature, this time closer to the friend. Feeling uneasy, the witness joined his friend, and they both heard the creature running through the brush behind them. The witness describes the creature as having black hair and a face with a sheen from the sun. He estimates that it was at least 7 feet tall, as it was tall enough to be seen over the brush. The encounter left a lasting impression on the witness, who still remembers it vividly almost 55 years later. The father, a skilled tracker, was asked by two professors from Berkeley to help investigate strange occurrences at a logging camp. They also noticed that something had been walking around the perimeter of the camp, leaving deep footprints in the ground. That night, the father saw eye shine outside the firelight, which he estimated to be 8 to 9 feet high. Despite his best efforts, he was unable to get close enough to the creature to see it clearly.
