A recent video posted on YouTube by the channel "Cabin in the Woods" has caught the attention of the Bigfoot community. The video, titled "Bigfoot Caught Watching Them in New Zealand’s Deep Woods," shares the account of a viewer named Richard who had a fascinating encounter with a Bigfoot-like creature in New Zealand.
Richard and his friend Allen ventured into a local forest in January 2021, specifically seeking a potential encounter. Within less than half an hour, they discovered numerous stick structures in a pine forest. One of the most intriguing finds was an area about 80 ft in diameter where around a dozen sticks, approximately 3 ft long and 3 in thick, were pushed into the ground at 45° angles. Richard described how these sticks were embedded roughly 5 in deep into the soil, an unnatural feat for sticks simply falling from trees.
The video also mentions that Richard later learned that this peculiar arrangement of sticks is also associated with Yowie encounters in Australia. This connection suggests a potential behavioral pattern among Sasquatch-like beings in the southern hemisphere, implying a broader regional consistency in the actions of these beings.
As Richard and Allen explored further, they paused to have a philosophical discussion about ancient Vedic scriptures and their description of the spiritual world. At the precise moment when Allen remarked, "Oh so it's all about love," they heard three loud thumps on the ground. Richard likened the sound to an elephant stomping, loud, rhythmic, and deliberate, emanating from a distance of about 60 ft.
The description of the thumps, three distinct impacts at 1-second intervals, is difficult to dismiss. Large wildlife such as deer or boars can certainly create loud noises, but Richard's description of the sound's intensity makes this explanation seem insufficient. An elephant-like stomp implies tremendous force which would likely leave physical evidence such as disturbed ground or visible tracks, none of which were present according to Richard.
The next day, Allen sent Richard a photo he'd taken during their encounter. In the image, a face can be seen peering through the trees, appearing distinct and humanoid but not resembling a human face exactly. Richard speculated that it could belong to a Sasquatch, though he left open the possibility of it being another type of forest being.
The photo raises several questions, and enhanced versions of the photo bring out even more detail, reinforcing the idea that this is a genuine face. If this was indeed a Sasquatch, it appears to be a younger individual based on the size and proportions of the face.
Skeptics often dismiss such encounters as misinterpretations or hoaxes, but the stick structures, the thumps, and the photo create a cohesive narrative that's hard to ignore. This narrative is strengthened by the connection to the Maui folklore, suggesting that these entities have been part of local cultural knowledge for centuries.
The video is a fascinating account, and readers are encouraged to watch it for themselves. The possibility of Sasquatch encounters in New Zealand, a country where Bigfoot encounters are considered extremely rare, adds another layer of intrigue to this captivating story.
