A fascinating account of a possible Sasquatch encounter in 1976 has been shared on the YouTube channel, Bigfoot Society. The witness, Leima, describes her experience of staying on a hippie commune located near the Sixes River in Oregon. Leima, who was 18 at the time, had traveled from Las Vegas to the commune with a friend. Upon their arrival, they were immediately regaled with tales of Bigfoot sightings and experiences from the commune's residents. The stories included descriptions of trees moving and a dog being thrown from the bushes by an unseen entity. The group of people Leima stayed with lived on an 80-acre property, where they grew their own food and had very few modern conveniences. The cabin they stayed in was hand-built and quite primitive, with a barrel stove and a hole in the ground serving as a refrigerator. During her stay, Leima went on a 10-mile hike with some of the other commune members. Along the way, they roasted a goat for a picnic. Leima was upset to discover that the meat they were eating was from the goat she had accompanied on the hike. While Leima did not have a personal encounter with Bigfoot during her stay at the commune, the stories she heard from the residents are intriguing and add to the body of anecdotal evidence surrounding the existence of Sasquatch.
