Greetings, fellow Bigfoot enthusiasts! I recently came across some fascinating accounts of possible Sasquatch sightings and encounters in Washington state, and I just had to share them with all of you. These stories were shared on the YouTube channel Creek Devil, and they offer a thrilling glimpse into the mysterious world of Bigfoot.
The first account comes from Lenworth, Washington, near the Icicle River Road. In the late summer or early fall of 1968, a group of campers heard strange screams that they initially thought were from mountain lions. However, things took a turn when they saw a "hulking" figure moving around their campsite. The witness described the figure as being over 5 feet wide and around 13 or 14 feet tall, completely black, and moving silently. The figure was seen going through the witness's pack, and when it stood up, it was revealed to be significantly taller than the windbreak between the Moon and the remnants of the fire. The witness was understandably shaken by the encounter, and while they didn't explicitly identify the figure as a Bigfoot, the description certainly leaves room for that possibility.
The second account comes from the Little Wachi River area, near Mount Howard. In the summer of 1975, a family heard a loud, deep roar coming from the other side of a replanted clearcut. The witness described the sound as being like a "very deep voiced man making a rough sounding lion roar, amplified with a microphone and speakers." The family initially thought it might be a black bear, but when the witness fired their 357 revolver in the air three times, the creature only roared louder and more rapidly. The family quickly left the area, and while they didn't see the creature, the witness described the sound as being much louder and more menacing.
The third account comes from the West end of a 45-degree slope in a forested area. The witness came upon four large prints, measuring 16 inches long and over 4 inches wide, that appeared to have been made by a bipedal creature. The prints were fresh, with the lower foot having slipped about 8 inches down the slope. The witness also noticed a "toe kick imprint" made as the subject turned to go directly up the slope. Nearby, the witness found a "nest" made of pine needles, about 3 to 3.5 feet wide and shaped like a volcano with a hole at the top. The witness took pictures of the nest and the best track, and noted that the subject appeared to have been moving in their direction before stopping to view them and then climbing up the slope towards the nest site.
The final account comes from Sulfur Creek Camp, near Darrington, Washington. In May 1974, the witness and their girlfriend were camping in the area when they both awoke to the sound of something large moving in a tree above their tent. The sound was unlike anything they had ever heard before, and they were so unnerved that they quickly packed up their camping gear and left the area. While the witness didn't explicitly identify the creature as a Bigfoot, the description of the sound certainly leaves room for that possibility.
These accounts offer a thrilling glimpse into the mysterious world of Bigfoot, and they serve as a reminder of just how little we know about the creatures that may be sharing our forests and wilderness areas.
