The first story takes place at a fire lookout tower in the Sierra Nevada. The ranger, identified as Mike Swiftclaw, was settling in for his night shift when he heard an otherworldly growl and noticed large, clawed footprints around the tower. As he peered into the darkness, he saw something massive moving through the trees. Mike describes the creature as being at least 8 feet tall, covered in hair, and moving on two legs. As the creature approached the tower, Mike's fear turned to terror. He grabbed the emergency flare gun and fired it at the beast, causing it to retreat. However, the Sasquatch didn't give up easily. It began to circle the tower, looking for a way to climb up. Mike was trapped and could only watch as the creature attacked the tower, eventually bringing it crashing down.
