A recent video from the YouTube channel Sasquatch and Sourdough Podcast caught my attention and I couldn't wait to share it with my fellow Bigfoot enthusiasts. In this episode, titled "Christmas With Sasquatch," host Christina shares some fascinating encounters that are sure to bring some holiday cheer.
One encounter that stood out to me was from Renee Deare's book "Skating with Bigfoot." The book compiles newspaper accounts of Sasquatch sightings from the past 150 years, and one particular account from 1902 in Idaho is especially intriguing. Residents of Southeastern Idaho would drive their wagons to the frozen Portneuf River to socialize and ice skate. However, their peaceful outing was interrupted by a Sasquatch who appeared among a party of young people skating. The creature flourished a great club and started to attack the skaters, causing them to flee to their wagons and drive away at breakneck speed. A group of armed citizens returned to the spot and saw tracks in the snow, but unfortunately, no follow-up to the story could be found.
Another encounter that Christina shares is from the BFRO (Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization) and took place in Grand Traverse County, Michigan in December 2012. A husband and wife were renting a snowmobile for the day after Christmas when they noticed what appeared to be a CrossCountry skier 200 yards away. However, upon closer inspection, they realized that the figure was extremely tall, with wide shoulders and a slim waist shape, and moved in a very unnatural way. The figure was dark dirty Rusty red from head to toe, except for the face which was jet black. The sighting lasted only a few seconds, and the couple did not see any cross country ski tracks in the area.
Both of these encounters are intriguing and add to the growing body of evidence supporting the existence of Sasquatch. I highly recommend checking out the Sasquatch and Sourdough Podcast and Renee Deare's book "Skating with Bigfoot" for more fascinating encounters. And as always, keep an open mind and stay Squatchable!
