Cherokee Citizen's Childhood Bigfoot Encounter: Ancient Legends & Modern Sightings

In a recent video from the YouTube channel Stan Mallow, host Stan M welcomes guest Paul G Buckner, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, professional musician, outdoorsman, and award-winning Amazon author. Buckner’s book, “Bigfoot, UFOs, and the Paranormal: True Encounters,” delves into his personal experiences with the unexplained, many of which were passed down through generations or witnessed firsthand during his travels throughout the United States. Growing up in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, Buckner spent his formative years in the great outdoors, often camping, hunting, and fishing in the woods, lakes, creeks, and rivers. This early connection to nature had a profound impact on him, influencing his appreciation for the natural world and his interest in the unexplained. During the interview, Buckner shares his first encounter with a Bigfoot-type creature, which occurred when he was just 11 years old. While spending the summer with his father and cousin, they received a call from Buckner’s aunt, who lived near a pasture with a tree line on the backside. She had been hanging laundry outside when she noticed something moving in the distance. At first, she thought it was a cow, but as the dark figure got closer, she realized it was walking upright, covered in black fur. Terrified, she ran into the house, grabbed her daughter, and called the neighbor to have her husband come home. When Buckner and his family arrived, they found the house locked up tight, and his aunt and cousin were hiding in the back room, visibly shaken. His aunt described the creature as massive, with a sloped forehead and covered in black fur. It had stepped over the fence and approached their barn, where it grabbed one of their calves before disappearing into the woods. Buckner’s aunt was so frightened by the encounter that she wanted to move away from the area immediately. This experience sparked Buckner’s lifelong fascination with Bigfoot and other paranormal phenomena. Throughout the interview, Buckner shares other stories of Bigfoot encounters, some of which were passed down through generations or witnessed firsthand during his travels.
