A fascinating account of a supposed violent encounter between a group of settlers and a group of Sasquatch has recently emerged on YouTube. The video, posted by the channel Wild Assault, tells the story of the "Bigfoot War" of 1855, which allegedly took place in Eastern Oklahoma. According to the video, a group of Choctaw settlers and ranchers in what is now McCurtain County faced a harrowing situation due to mysterious nocturnal thefts of crops, livestock, and supplies. The thieves seemed to possess an uncanny ability to avoid detection, leading the community to believe they were dealing with something other than human. The situation reached a boiling point when children and women began to vanish. A group of 30 Choctaw men, led by the respected Joshua Laflor, set out to confront the culprits. Among the search party was Hamas Tubby, a formidable warrior known for his impressive stature and fighting skills. The group ventured into the McCurtain County wilderness to track down the kidnappers, unaware of the peril that awaited them. After a long day of riding, the searchers arrived at the location where they believed the Desperado to be hiding. As they approached a stand of pines, they were hit by a tremendous stench, the unmistakable odor of death. The horses began to buck, but the Tubby men remained composed, allowing them to continue towards the pines. As they cleared the small wooded patch, they came upon a large earthen mound. Scattered across the mound were the bodies of children and women in various stages of decomposition. The searchers then caught a glimpse of several of the murderers fleeing into the tree line. Only three of the killers stood their ground to meet the their charge. These were not human foes, but three huge hair-covered creatures. Laflor drew his pistol and saber, spurred his mount, and charged. As he approached the nearest Sasquatch, the beast took a mighty swipe, striking his horse in the head and killing it instantly. Laflor rolled off his falling horse, quickly jumped to his feet, and fired multiple shots into the creature's chest. He then attacked the second Sasquatch with his saber, opening a gaping wound on the animal. The Tubby men hesitated, stunned by the sight of the creatures. This delay allowed one of the other Sasquatches to sneak up behind Laflor, who was focused on the Bigfoot he was engaged with. The monster grabbed Laflor's head with its two enormous hands and tore it from his shoulders. The shocking sight jolted the Tubby Warriors into action. They opened fire on the three Sasquatches with 50-caliber sharp Buffalo rifles, two of the creatures were shot dead instantly. The third animal was injured and fled. Robert Tubby, only 18 years old, urged his horse forward and chased down the wounded Bigfoot, dispatching it with his hunting knife. After gathering their horses, the rest of the Warriors joined him and surveyed the carnage. The bodies of dead women and children, mostly half-eaten, littered the area. The smell of decay coupled with the foul odor of the Beast's feces caused several of the men to wretch. After composing themselves, the men gathered the remains of the tragic women and children and buried them. They also buried their leader, Joshua Laflor. The bodies of the three Sasquatches were set ablaze and burned. The story of the Bigfoot War is certainly an astonishing one, but is it true? According to Bigfoot researcher Jim Ruler, the answer might be yes. Ruler believes that the Laflora County tale is based on an event that occurred much farther west in Kiowa County, an event recounted to him by an Indian Elder. Regardless of its truth, the tale of the Laflora County Bigfoot War suggests a long-standing belief in the existence of a massive hairy ap-like being in the area. This belief predates the emergence of Bigfoot in American culture and is supported by similar beliefs held by numerous Native American tribes throughout North America. We encourage our readers to watch the video and form their own opinions on the matter. The existence of Sasquatch remains a fascinating and captivating mystery, one that continues to frighten and intrigue us to this day.
