In a recent video from the YouTube channel GIS Bigfoot Answers, viewers are taken on a journey to explore Bigfoot sightings in Virginia. The video begins with a viewer-submitted report of numerous sightings on Butt Mountain, located in the Jefferson National Forest in Giles County. The mountain is home to a fire tower, from which people have reported seeing Bigfoot entering caves at the base of the mountain. Using ARCGIS Pro software, the video explores satellite imagery of the area and identifies potential locations for the sightings. The video then moves on to discuss Class A and Class B sightings. Class A sightings are defined as visual sightings of a Bigfoot or Sasquatch, while Class B sightings include any other evidence such as vocalizations, wood knocks, nests, broken tree limbs, or footprints. One particularly chilling Class B sighting is shared from Franklin County in 2003. A hunter reported hearing a "blood-curdling scream, yell, growl" that lasted for 5-7 seconds and sounded close, within 25 yards. The sound was described as having a high pitch that expanded into a howl ending in a menacing guttural growl. The hunter also reported a distinct smell of rotten cabbage or a ripe dumpster, which they later learned is a scent associated with Bigfoot when threatened. The video goes on to explore more sightings in the area, including a report from Rocky Mount and a late-night sighting by motorists on Highway 94 near the White County border. I am always excited to see new reports and evidence of these elusive creatures. The video from the GIS Bigfoot Answers YouTube channel provides valuable information and insights into Bigfoot sightings in Virginia. I encourage all Bigfoot enthusiasts to check out the video and share their thoughts and opinions.
