Jerry Ewing, an experienced hunter, had an unexpected encounter with a large, man-like creature while out hunting squirrels. The being was about a foot taller than a normal man, covered in hair, and weighed around 400 lbs. Jerry could hardly believe his eyes, and although he was armed with only a 22 rifle, he kept his distance, watching as the creature eventually walked into the forest. Fast forward to April 1974 in Scott County, Iowa. A family driving through the area at night came across a massive figure standing in the middle of the highway. Initially, they thought it was a cow or a man in a thick coat, but as they got closer, they realized it was something far more extraordinary. The being was described as a very tall man with black, furry wool, bending over and intently picking something up from the road. It was reported to be 3.5 ft tall, but if it stood up, it would have been 8 ft tall and weighed over 400 lbs. In the summer of 1974, another sighting occurred in De Moes County, Illinois. Jack, a motorcyclist, saw something dark, huge, and unbelievably fast running down an embankment. He chased the creature for 40 yards but eventually decided to leave it alone, feeling terrified. The final account comes from Monroe County, Iowa, in January 1976. A young boy noticed unusual footprints while sledding near a country club. The prints were not made by boots but appeared to be barefoot, with a stride much longer than a normal man's. The witness felt as though he was being watched and decided to head home, feeling uneasy about the experience.
