A fascinating account of a possible encounter with a sasquatch has been shared on the YouTube channel Cryptid Mysterious. The witness, a retired professor named Richard Hayes, describes his experience hiking with his wife in the Moyer Woods National Monument in 1956.
As they were examining a plant, Hayes noticed something moving out of the corner of his eye. He saw a large, gorilla-like creature dart across the trail ahead of them. Hayes and his wife heard a distinct whoop whoop noise coming from the forest, and upon investigating, they saw the creature leaning out from behind a redwood tree.
Hayes describes the creature as being around 8 or 9 feet tall, with a broad jaw line and gray skin on its face. Its body was so wide that it could only hide behind a redwood tree. The couple was left completely baffled by what they had seen.
This encounter is particularly interesting as it took place in an area where there were no discussions about sasquatches at the time. Hayes and his wife simply observed something they couldn't explain and tried to label it as best they could.
You can watch the full account in the video on Cryptid Mysterious's YouTube channel. It's always exciting to hear about new encounters and experiences with these elusive creatures. Who knows, maybe one day we'll have definitive proof of their existence. Until then, we can only continue to gather and share these intriguing stories.
