Have you heard about the fascinating Sasquatch encounters from 1929 in British Columbia? A YouTube channel called The Forbidden Pod recently shared these incredible stories in their series, "Unexplained." I was thrilled to discover these tales and wanted to share them with my fellow Bigfoot enthusiasts.
The first story features a man named Charlie Victor and three other young Stalis men who were picking salmonberries when they stumbled upon a cave hidden by a large boulder. After entering the cave and discovering a makeshift shelter, their torches went out, and they decided to leave. Upon their return, they found the boulder blocking the entrance, making it impossible for them to enter. The Stalis people believe that this cave is home to the Sasquatch, a sacred being that protects the land and people.
Another captivating story from the early 1900s tells the tale of a Sasquatch encounter by a Stalis man named Peter. While walking along the foot of a mountain near the Chahalis Reserve, Peter heard a grunt and saw a massive, hair-covered creature on a boulder. When the creature stood upright and let out a piercing yell, Peter fled through the bush, with the Sasquatch in hot pursuit. Eventually, the creature gave up, but not before causing significant damage to Peter's home and leaving massive 22-inch-long tracks.
These stories, taken from an April 1929 article by JW Burns in McLean's magazine, provide a unique glimpse into the rich history of Sasquatch sightings in the Harrison River Valley. The area's indigenous people view encounters with Sasquatch as a blessing, reinforcing the importance of living in harmony with nature.
The Forbidden Pod's video is a must-watch for any Bigfoot enthusiast. The channel does an excellent job of sharing these historical accounts and providing context for the Sasquatch's significance in Stalis culture. I highly recommend checking out the video and exploring the other stories shared in their "Unexplained" series.
