A new and intriguing YouTube channel has caught my attention, and I just had to share it with all of you fellow Bigfoot enthusiasts! Pacific Northwest Bigfoot Search is a channel that focuses on the search for missing persons in the same areas where Bigfoot sightings have been reported. The channel was started by Glenn Austin Oldfield II and his team after a family friend reached out to them, asking if they could keep an eye out for the clothing or gear of a friend who had gone missing in the same area they were searching for Sasquatch. As it turns out, there were 34 individuals missing in the 150,000-acre parcel of land where they were searching. This shocking discovery led them to start the Pacific Northwest Missing Persons Project, with the mission of raising public awareness about these cases and providing resources and support to families and law enforcement to bring these missing people home. The channel's latest video, "Board Meeting, PNWMPP - August 21st, 2024," gives us a deeper look into the work they do. They explain that search and rescue organizations and law enforcement often lack the funding and personnel required to continue searching for lost and missing individuals after the initial life-saving measures have ended. This is where Pacific Northwest Bigfoot Search steps in, hoping to bring someone home by searching for a needle in the world's largest haystack. The video goes on to discuss the statistics of missing persons in the state of Oregon alone. In 2023, more than 79 people vanished during search and rescue missions, and countless individuals are removed from missing person lists every year due to the issuance of death certificates to families of the missing. These individuals may be declared legally deceased, but their families still have no closure. Pacific Northwest Bigfoot Search aims to engage the community through word of mouth, their podcast, social media platforms, and interacting with law enforcement. They have a dedicated team of outdoorsmen and volunteers, and they are looking to onboard additional trained volunteers in the future. I am truly impressed by the work that Pacific Northwest Bigfoot Search is doing and am excited to see what they uncover in their searches. I highly recommend checking out their YouTube channel and giving their videos a watch!
