Missing Hikers, Mysterious Creature: A Smoky Mountain Rescue

The man, who had the unique opportunity to work with the park as a college student, was part of a group of young men who were called upon by the Rangers to help in a search and rescue mission for a father and son who had gone missing. The two had filled out a Backcountry permit, indicating they would be hiking on Mount Lon, but they didn't return when they were supposed to. As the group of young men hiked through the snow-covered trails, they didn't find any sign of the missing father and son. However, upon reaching the top of Mount Lon, they discovered a small cabin used for trail maintenance. After cooking a hot meal and getting some rest, the group retired to their sleeping bags for the night. The man recounts that something started howling and screaming outside of the cabin, followed by loud pounding on the side of the cabin. The door flexed under the force of the blows, and the man could see the fear in his friends' eyes as they all lay frozen in their sleeping bags, unable to move or speak. The terrifying sounds continued for what felt like an eternity before suddenly stopping, leaving the group in stunned silence. The man's story is a chilling reminder of the mysteries that still exist in the world and the unexplained experiences that some people have in the wilderness.
