A special ops team in Alaska's frosty wilderness stumbled upon something extraordinary during a training exercise in February 1994. While navigating through a dense, snow-covered forest, the team discovered massive footprints measuring 18-19 inches long with an incredible stride length of five feet.
Curious about the unusual prints, the team sergeant, an experienced tracker, estimated that the creature responsible for the tracks was about 9 feet tall and weighed between 500 and 700 pounds. Intrigued, the team decided to follow the tracks, which led them through challenging terrain and across marshy lowlands.
As they continued their journey, the team encountered a series of eerie occurrences that left them feeling vulnerable and exposed. At around 4 a.m., they were awakened by a chilling howl that transformed into a loud roar, followed by the sound of something massive moving through the forest. The creature stopped just 100 feet away from their campsite, pacing back and forth and snapping branches.
Terrified, Miles and the other soldiers listened as the creature unleashed a bone-chilling combination of a howl, roar, and scream. Realizing they had no ammunition, the team decided to pack up and leave the area at first light. Before they departed, they found more large footprints and a 35-foot pine tree that had been snapped in half cleanly.
Miles, haunted by the encounter, later learned that Fairchild Air Force survival school maps included an illustration of a Sasquatch, acknowledging the possibility of such a creature's existence. The experience left a lasting impression on Miles, who still wonders if they had encountered a Sasquatch that day.
