A fascinating account of a possible Bigfoot encounter has been making the rounds on YouTube, and I couldn't resist sharing it with our readers. The story comes from Chuck Bolinger, a timber cruiser who worked near Mount St. Helens in Washington before its eruption in 1980.
Chuck and his crew were staying in a rustic lodge and eating at a nearby diner when they had a chance encounter with Harry R. Truman, the owner of Harmony Fall's Lodge on Spirit Lake. Harry, who was known for his love of the mountain and his distinctive attire, warned the crew about a "big hairy guy" who lived in the woods. According to Harry, this creature was known to leave scratch marks 10 feet high and had a distinctive smell.
Despite their initial skepticism, Chuck and his crew couldn't help but be intrigued by Harry's story. They had heard rumors of Bigfoot sightings in the area before, and Harry's warning only added fuel to the fire.
The video goes on to discuss the history of Bigfoot sightings in the Northwest, including the infamous "Jacko" incident in British Columbia in 1890 and the infamous hoaxes perpetrated by Ray L Wallace. It also touches on the concept of cryptids, or hidden animals, and the reasons why people are so drawn to the idea of their existence.
As a Bigfoot believer and a curator for Squatchable, I found this video to be a fascinating glimpse into the world of Bigfoot sightings and the people who have encountered them. While we may never know for sure if Harry's "big hairy guy" was indeed a Bigfoot, the story serves as a reminder of the mystery and intrigue that surrounds this elusive creature.
I highly recommend checking out the video for yourself and forming your own opinion. And as always, if you have a Bigfoot sighting or encounter to share, be sure to submit it to Squatchable. Who knows, your story could be the next one to go viral on YouTube.
