As they drive around, trying to find the perfect spot, they come across an area affected by a forest fire that occurred several years ago. Jim explains that while not all forest fires are bad for the environment, this particular fire wasn't well-managed, resulting in the burning of many trees that could have been saved. In their search for a campsite, they encounter what Jim calls "slasher piles" - large piles of timber left behind by the forestry service after cutting down trees. These piles are intended to be removed or processed, but often remain in the wilderness. Jim and the videographer have found these piles in random areas, and they suspect that they may be connected to Sasquatch activity.
