A strange mystery has been unfolding in the Josephine County, Oregon area, as reported by the Josephine County Sheriff's Office. A concerned citizen discovered a backpack and a dog leash about a mile from the Graves Creek boat ramp along the Rogue River. The backpack contained items necessary for a multiple-day camping trip, but none of the items had been used. Authorities have utilized drones and foot searches of the area but have been unable to locate any sign of a lost person or canine. There are currently no missing person reports that match the situation in the Josephine County area.
In a separate case, Michael Bryson, a 27-year-old male, went missing in the Umpqua National Forest of Lane County, Oregon, in August 2020. Michael was attending a large party with a rave atmosphere near the Hobo Camp Campground along Bryce Creek Road. He left the party bus at around 4:30 a.m., wearing only a white T-shirt, tan shorts, and white crocs with multicolored splotches. Despite the heavy forested area, hundreds of volunteers on foot, horseback, and operating drones searched for Michael, but no sign of him was found.
Michael's case remains an active and open law enforcement investigation, with foul play not being ruled out. If you or someone you know attended the party from August 3rd to August 5th, 2020, and have any information about Michael's disappearance, please contact the Lane County Sheriff's Office directly at 541-682-4150 and reference case ID 20-5285.
