Have you heard the news, fellow Bigfoot enthusiasts? It turns out that the beloved character Sasquatch from the Marvel Comics universe has a fascinating backstory that is deeply connected to our favorite elusive creature. I recently came across a video that delves into the origin of Sasquatch, and I just had to share it with all of you. The video, which can be found on the YouTube channel Average Wil, tells the story of Walter Langkowski, a Canadian football star who traded in his sports career to pursue his passion for gamma ray research. Hailing from British Columbia, Walter's interest in gamma rays was sparked during his time at Pennsylvania State University, where he met Bruce Banner, who would later become the Hulk. After college, Walter played professional football for the Green Bay Packers, but his fascination with gamma rays never waned. He continued his research in his spare time, and when the world learned of Bruce Banner's transformation into the Hulk, Walter saw an opportunity to replicate the experiment under controlled circumstances. With over a million dollars of his own money, Walter took his project to the federal government and was granted a remote research facility in the Arctic Circle by the Canadian Superhero Monitoring Agency, Department H. It was there that Walter exposed himself to a massive amount of gamma rays, which transformed him into a giant hairy creature that bore a striking resemblance to the Bigfoot of Canadian legend. Walter, now known as Sasquatch, had enhanced senses, superhuman strength, durability, and regenerative abilities. He also had razor-sharp talons on his fingers and fur that granted him resistance to extreme cold. Sasquatch joined the superhero team Alpha Flight and became romantically involved with his teammate, Aurora. However, Walter's new form came with a dark side. Every time he transformed into Sasquatch, he was slowly being taken over by the Great Beast Tanaraq. Walter's gamma ray experiment had pierced a mystic barrier, allowing it to form a symbiosis with him. This gave Walter the ability to transform into the beast at will and control him. Tragically, Walter's teammate Snowbird, who was also a metamorph, had to battle and kill Tanaraq, which resulted in Walter's death. But the story doesn't end there. Walter's spirit jumped around into different beings until it finally entered the Sasquatch form of Snowbird, who had died. Walter became a white fur version of Sasquatch but when he tried to revert to his human form, he was now a female, which they would call Wanda Langkowski. He was stuck as Wanda for months, until Snowbird returned from the afterlife, extracting her essence from the body, allowing Walter to return to his male form. This video is a must-watch for any Bigfoot enthusiast, as it shows the deep connection between our favorite creature and the world of comics. The video is informative, engaging, and highlights the complexity and depth of the Sasquatch character. So, without further ado, I encourage all of you to check out the video and let me know what you think in the comments below. Happy watching!
