BFRO Researcher's Personal Bigfoot Encounter in North Georgia Mountains

A new and fascinating podcast episode from the YouTube channel Apes Among Us Podcast has recently caught my attention. The episode, titled "Apes Among Us Episode 3: Meeting Pruitt," features Matt Pruitt, a well-known figure in the wood ape field. Pruitt is a leading field researcher for the BFRO, the editor and producer for Bigfoot and Beyond with Cliff and Bobo, the field operations coordinator for the NAWAC, and now, the co-host of Apes Among Us. In this particular episode, Pruitt shares his incredible journey into the world of wood apes, which began when he was just 17 years old. While camping in the North Georgia Mountains, Pruitt and his friends had a terrifying experience that they could not explain. They heard strange sounds and witnessed branches breaking and being ripped off of trees, as well as powerful vocalizations. The event was so unsettling that they abandoned their campsite and left all of their belongings behind. It wasn't until a couple of years later that Pruitt discovered information about Bigfoot and realized that the experience he had when he was 17 was similar to what he had read. He began to gather information, find local witnesses, and dig into historical records. Pruitt's interest in wood apes became consuming, and he eventually started going out in the field in 2004. What I found particularly interesting about Pruitt's story is that he had a video recording of the event from that night in 1999. He mentioned that he needs to get it digitized, but I hope that he will share it with the world one day. The idea of having actual footage of a wood ape encounter is both thrilling and intriguing.
