A new batch of paranormal stories has emerged from the wilderness of British Columbia, and the team at Paranormal BC has been kind enough to share them with us. The first story comes from a family who were camping at Batnune Lake Forestry Campsite near Nasco, BC in the summer of 2002. After a long day of fishing and boating, they settled down by the fire, but their peaceful evening was interrupted by some strange occurrences by the lake. The family's dogs started growling and barking at the lake, and soon after, a series of loud splashes were heard. The witness initially thought her husband was playing a practical joke on her, but as the splashes grew louder and the dogs became more agitated, she realized something unusual was happening. Despite the darkness and the fear of waking up their children, the witness and her husband decided to investigate. They didn't see anything, but the dogs refused to come out of the motorhome, and the family left the campsite the next morning, feeling uneasy about what had happened. The second story comes from a witness who prefers to remain anonymous. He was working as a logger near Prince George, and his team started experiencing strange occurrences on their remote work site. Tools would go missing, logs would be shifted, and the horses were getting spooked. One night, they heard a blood-curdling scream from the woods, and the horses became agitated. The witness described the scream as coming from a large, unknown animal, and the team was so scared that they left the site the next morning and never returned. The third story comes from William Row, a highway worker and experienced hunter and trapper. In October 1955, he was hiking to a deserted mine on Micah Mountain near Tumbler Ridge, BC. As he approached the mine, he saw what he initially thought was a grizzly bear, but as he observed the creature, he realized it was not a bear but a man-like creature covered in dark brown, silver-tip hair. The creature was unaware of Row's presence and proceeded to eat leaves from a bush. Row was able to observe many important details about the creature's physical makeup, including its short, heavy fingernails and small, black eyes. The final story comes from two men who were driving to Kitimat one summer morning in the early 1980s. As they came down the airport hill, they saw a ground fog over the William Creek flats. As they approached a bend in the road, they saw a tall, hair-covered human-like creature standing in the water at the foot of the grade, facing the highway. The creature's head was level with the windows of the car, and its eyes and mouth opened wide in terror as the car came to a stop. The passenger described the creature as very tall and hairy, and the men were so shaken that they didn't stop to investigate further. These stories are a fascinating glimpse into the world of the unknown and the paranormal, and we are grateful to Paranormal BC for sharing them with us.
